# Uninstalling The Software

Follow this guide to uninstall DogWifTools from your computer, there are two parts for each operating system so please read the entire guide.

## <mark style="color:purple;">Windows</mark>

### **To delete DogWifTools app follow this:**

1. **Open the Run Dialog**:
   * Press **Windows Key + R** on your keyboard to open the Run dialog box.
2. **Access the Local AppData Folder**:
   * In the Run dialog, type **`%localappdata%`** and press **Enter** or click **OK**.
3. **Locate the 'Programs' Folder**:
   * In the window that opens, find and open the **'Programs'** folder.
4. **Delete the 'DogWifTools' Folder**:
   * Inside the 'Programs' folder, locate the **'DogWifTools'** folder.
   * Right-click on the **'DogWifTools'** folder and select **Delete**.
5. **Empty the Recycle Bin** (optional but recommended):
   * Right-click on the **Recycle Bin** icon on your desktop.
   * Select **Empty Recycle Bin** to permanently remove the files from your system.

### **To delete your DogWifTools config follow this:**

1. **Open the Run Dialog**:
   * Press **Windows Key + R** on your keyboard to open the Run dialog box.
2. **Access the Roaming AppData Folder**:
   * In the Run dialog, type **`%appdata%`** and press **Enter** or click **OK**.
3. **Locate the 'DogWifTools' Folder**:
   * In the window that opens, find the **'DogWifTools'** folder.
4. **Backup Important Data**:
   * Inside the **'DogWifTools'** folder, locate and open the **'main'** folder.
   * Your data is stored inside the **`config.json`** file.
   * **Copy `config.json` or the entire `main` folder to a safe location**.
     * This ensures all your data, including any wallet backups or essential files, are preserved.
   * **Important**: Deleting this folder will permanently erase your data, and it cannot be recovered.
5. **Delete the 'DogWifTools' Folder**:
   * Go back to the **`%appdata%`** directory.
   * Right-click on the **'DogWifTools'** folder and select **Delete**.
6. **Empty the Recycle Bin** (optional but recommended):
   * Right-click on the **Recycle Bin** icon on your desktop.
   * Select **Empty Recycle Bin** to permanently remove the files from your system.

## <mark style="color:purple;">Mac</mark>

### **To delete DogWifTools app follow this:**

1. **Open Finder**.
2. **Navigate to the Applications Folder**:
   * Click on **"Applications"** in the sidebar, or select **Go > Applications** from the top menu.
3. **Delete the DogWifTools Application**:
   * Locate the **'DogWifTools'** app within the Applications folder.
   * Right-click on **'DogWifTools'** and select **Move to Trash**.
4. **Empty the Trash** (optional but recommended):
   * Right-click on the **Trash** icon in the dock.
   * Select **Empty Trash** to permanently remove the application from your system.

### **To delete your DogWifTools config follow this:**

1. **Open Finder**.
2. **Navigate to the Documents Folder**:
   * Click on "Documents" in the sidebar, or go to **Go > Documents** from the top menu.
3. **Locate the 'DogWifTools' Folder**.
4. **Backup Important Data**:
   * Inside the **'DogWifTools'** folder, locate and open the **'main'** folder.
   * Your data is stored inside the `config.json` file.
   * **Copy `config.json` or the entire `main` folder to a safe location**.
